With so many government agencies and nonprofit organizations in Houston, it’s easy to think that others will attend to these needs — that “anyone but me” can take care of the hunger, poverty, joblessness, and illiteracy that exist in every neighborhood. Yet these needs persist. With thousands of Houstonians living in poverty and struggling to meet basic needs, the Church in Houston must step up.
