Here are LCISD’s COVID-19 volunteer guidelines:

• LCISD is currently allowing volunteers to serve on campus in mentoring and tutoring roles during the school day. Volunteers are screened prior to serving and work only with children who have parental consent to work with a volunteer. Online mentoring opportunities are available.
• All campuses are able to receive deliveries to their school campus front desk area.
• Groups are allowed to serve on campus before and after school in other volunteers roles.

Here are some ways churches are supporting schools in LCISD right now:

• Praying for schools (Prayer Guide)
• Encouraging teachers through notes, emails, small gifts, and meals
• Mentoring (LAMP)
• Food and supply support (Common Threads, Lunches of Love)

Churches can also help seasonally and at the district level:

• Spring: Support Graduating Seniors
• Summer: Hope on the Brazos
• ASAP – Activities Supporting Adolescent Parenting
• Project L.E.A.R.N. – Let’s Eliminate At-Risk Needs!

Volunteer Guidelines & Resources:

Parents, guardians, and grandparents of students in Lamar Consolidated ISD can contact the campus of their child/grandchild directly to become a volunteer. Other interested community members can click here to register. An online background check will need to be completed by all volunteers, and Loving Houston will hold quarterly trainings for church leaders.
