Executive Director

Marilyn has education, corporate, nonprofit, and ministry experience, a BA from Rice University, and an MBA with a focus on nonprofit management and development economics with the specific goal of mobilizing churches around community needs.

Melissa Emerson
Program Manager

Melissa has a unique combination of an undergraduate degree from the University of Houston, a Masters of Divinity degree, and experience as a church minister and an event coordinator in the non-profit sector equipping pastors to connect Sunday faith and Monday work.

Dr. Tom Billings

Chairman of the Board of Loving Houston. Former Executive Director of Union Baptist Association. Enjoys teaching, training, photography, golf, and retirement!

Peter Forbes

Retired business executive serving on several non-profit boards. Enjoys mentoring and being mentored, and volunteering with CanCare at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital.

Kelly Handel

Certified Public Accountant. Enjoys tutoring second grade students in reading and math, reading, traveling, and serving in various leadership roles at her church and local organizations.

Judye Hartman

Former math teacher and IBM for NASA computer programmer. Enjoys leading Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church’s partnership with Piney Point Elementary, traveling, and cheering on the UT Longhorns!

Harry Holmes

Native Houstonian and recognized leader in the Houston real estate industry. Enjoys mentoring at Spring Woods Middle School, serving as a grief facilitator, and providing leadership on several local boards.

Mike Malkemes

Marine Corps Desert Storm veteran, former Charles Schwab senior business development broker, and founding director of Generation One. Enjoys spending time with his wife and two adopted children.

Evelyn Ogletree

Executive Pastor of First Metropolitan Church. Former teacher and daycare owner. Enjoys mentoring, coaching, counseling, speaking on women and teen girl issues, and facilitating marriage workshops.

Dr. Dave Peterson

Director of Community Outreach Programs with the McNair Foundation. Pastor Emeritus of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church. Enjoys writing, serving on local boards, and spending time with his 7 grandchildren!

Terri Wang

Board and committee member of multiple local nonprofits. Enjoys volunteering with refugee kids, studying the Bible with BSF and CBS, and dividing her loyalties between her children’s schools: UT Austin and Texas A&M!
